EJ:  When did you begin writing?

Madelyn:
I have been writing forever it seems. I remember my first endeavor was when I was twelve and it was a never-ending story about the band Duran Duran, lol. I continued writing mainly for myself until my first child was born then I kind of gave the whole thing up for awhile. In 2007, after discovering Laurell Hamilton’s Guilty Pleasures, I sat down and wrote Faith Revisited, about a fallen angel and a vampire. I’ve continued writing about angels ever since.

EJ:  What brought you to the paranormal genre?

Madelyn:
I’m not quite certain I ever had a choice. I’ve always been fascinated with the paranormal, from shows about ghosts and haunting to literature about vampires and werewolves. I love it all.

EJ:  If you could be any paranormal or have any one supernatural talent, what would it be? Why?

Madelyn:  I am partial to shifters myself. The thought of being a vampire and having to drink blood grosses me out but being able to shift form might be pretty cool…as long as it’s not painful. I’m kind of a wimp that way, lol.

EJ:  Tell us why readers will enjoy your new release.

Madelyn:  My Avenging Angel is a dark paranormal romance where the good guy, the Archangel Michael, kicks the bad guy’s ass, a demon of the fallen angel variety called Asmodeus. The heroine, Victoria, is his destiny, his soul-mate, and the perfect individual to bring Michael’s arrogance (he is the Archangel Michael, after all) to heel. I’ve been told the sex is hot, though I still cringe when I think about my mom reading it (it’s the Catholic school upbringing) and while a short read (it is part of the Angels and Demons anthology at Samhain), is only the beginning for Michael and Tory.

EJ:  If your book My Avenging Angel were being made into a movie, who would you cast for the leading roles? Why?

Madelyn:  This one is really hard but I think Colin Farrell as Michael and Kate Bosworth as Tory. Farrell, I believe, would be able to pull off the arrogance Michael’s displays. And Bosworth would be able to portray the mixture of innocence and steeled backbone that is Tory.

Thank you Madelyn for joining us here at From the Shadows and providing answers to our burning questions!

My Avenging Angel by Madelyn Ford.

To save her life, he must break a covenant—and lose his heart.
An Angels and Demons story.

It’s Victoria Bloom’s twenty-fifth birthday. But is she out celebrating? Oh, no. She’s in a stuffy old attic with the Three Stooges—a.k.a. her so-called spirit guides. There’s a demon who wants her dead, the same one that killed her mother two decades ago. No worries, say the Stooges. All she has to do is summon an angel. What could go wrong?

Well, plenty when you summon the wrong angel. The next thing Tory knows, she’s got one very bad-ass, pissed-off and sexy Archangel on her hands.

Michael, mighty warrior, leader of an elite team of demon killers, is shaking in his heavenly combat boots. Not because he finds all humans distasteful. But because he’d rather face Lucifer himself than the woman his soul has just recognized as his mate. Binding himself to a mortal, one who will eventually die, is the one path he’s sworn never to follow.

It’s too late now; his fate is sealed. With one touch, she becomes as necessary to him as the air he breathes. He will move heaven and earth to protect her—but against a demon as powerful as Asmodeus, heaven and earth may not be enough…

Warning: This book contains one bad-ass Archangel with a fiery, um, sword, a witch who blows things up, one nasty demon who is trying to kill them both, and ghosts who make interfering their mission. Steamy sex is had, even with the voyeur ghosts—though Tory is still blushing.
