Guest Author Interview: Lindsay Anne Kendal

Please welcome today's guest author Lindsay Anne Kendal!  Lindsay is the author of Bloodlines.

EJ:  When did you begin writing?

Lindsay:
I began writing when I was 21. Just silly little stories that didn't go anywhere. Then I started to have panic attacks. I didn’t go outside the door and spent all my time in my room writing. At first it was just silly little stories again, but then, Bloodlines came into my head. I had the support of my family and close friends, and they encouraged me to write the whole story. At first it was just going to be one book, but as I was writing, I got more and more ideas. And so a trilogy was born.

EJ:  What brought you to the paranormal genre?

Lindsay:
I have had a love of all things weird, spooky, paranormal and supernatural since I was a kid. I always loved Halloween, and watching horror and fantasy films. I also used to read Point Horror books, so it fits really that I stick with what I love the most. It’s a genre that fascinates me and that you can really play with. There are very few limitations and you can really have fun writing it. I do intend on writing a good ghost story one day. Sadly, simply because I have seen so many on the TV, they don’t scare me anymore and I know a few other people who say the same. Maybe, just maybe, I could write something that will scare the pants of people.

EJ:  If you could be any paranormal or have any one supernatural talent, what would it be? Why?

Lindsay:
Ok this is a hard question. Hmmm. I’ve always had an obsession with Vampires, so I would have to chose to be one of them. I love everything about them. To be able to live that long and see how the world changes, to meet people from tens of generations. They are basically history on legs. I would love to see what they see, have my senses heightened. That would be amazing.

EJ:  Tell us why readers will enjoy your new release.

Lindsay:
I think people with enjoy the book for a few reasons, or should I say I hope they like it. The characters are great. Each have their own strong personalities, and opinions. The storyline itself is different to anything out there at the moment. It touches on demonology and does deal in some facts. There are serious, funny and sad moments throughout and I have been told the characters could become role models for people. They are very likeable. If people like magic, weird and wonderful, with a hint of tension, romance and horror. They will hopefully enjoy reading Bloodlines.

EJ:  If your book(s) were being made into a movie, who would you cast for the leading roles? Why?

Lindsay:
If my books were turned into films, I wouldn’t really want well known actors/actresses in them. I am a new author and my publisher took me on and gave me a chance to tell my story to the world, and do what I love doing. What I want to spend the rest of my life doing. I would love to give an aspiring actor/actress the chance to prove themselves too.

Bloodlines by Lindsay Anne Kendal.

Keira Jameson used to lead a normal life, she just had a gift, passed down through the generations of her family. Now, after hearing voices, having strange dreams of others calling out to her, and her grandfather's last words haunting her, she sets out to find other families like hers. Along with her best friend Lily, the only person outside her family to know about her gift, Keira begins a hunt for her ancestors. A chance meeting with a young man, Lucian Turner, sets them on the right track, but their discoveries change the way Keira will see herself for ever more. Fear, superstition and heritage are shaping Keira's future and she must face her enemies, even if this could mean losing her life. She cannot escape her destiny.

Part Buffy-style horror, part tender romance, Bloodlines will have fans of the genre on tenterhooks waiting for the next instalment of this gripping and hell-raising tale.
