    1. Think of it this way...at least they can't let you down, right? I mean, one year my dad gave my mom vacuum bags. VACUUM BAGS. Epic Valentine's day fail. ;)

Hope you day is filled with candy and awesome books!

  10. I hate how everyone makes it out like it is the biggest and most important holiday

  11. The thing I hate about Valentine's day is when everyone who doesn't have a significant other complains about being single and stuff. It's sorta pathetic. You don't need a significant other to complete you, or to make you feel better. Valentine's day shouldn't just be about your relationship status, it's about those you love in general. Whomever they are, whether it be your mom or your sister or your best friend. Heck, even your cat if he's included on the list of people you care about. I just think people turn Valentine's day into something it shouldn't be. It's not "poor me I'm single" day it's Valentine's day. A holiday about love. Those you love and those who love you. And for those who are single on Valentine's, remember: You are a strong, independent woman who doesn't need a man and can buy herself chocolate....

  12. It's my dad's birthday. I like that he was, you know, born, but it makes the whole "romantic holiday" thing feel a little icky.

    1. This made me LOL. I suppose you could make romantic dinner reservations, etc on a different night. Dad gets his birthday celebration, and you get to beat the crowds (and often inflated prices). Win? ;)

  13. Valentines Day is really all about the candy for me. I am happily married, and very much in love with my husband, but Valentines Day has never really meant too much to either of us, other than a good excuse to eat a bunch of yummy junk! Not that we really need an excuse!

    1. Halloween = candy. Thanksgiving = pie. Christmas = cookies. Birthdays = cake. Valentine's Day = chocolate.

      I see a pattern here. ;)

      Enjoy the candy!

  14. Hi, and thanks so much for the giveaway!! I LOVE the cover of "Spirit Storm", and know that I would enjoy reading the entire series!

To answer the comment question, my VERY FAVORITE thing about Valentine's Day is to go out to dinner with hubby, then down to the beach for a romantic moonlit walk. I follow that up with a Twilight Saga marathon the weekend after Valentine's Day!! (Hubby retires to the bedroom with his laptop during the marathon, but takes a break during the "intermission" between two movies to come out and share some popcorn with me. Then he might stay and watch a little, after which he goes back to the bedroom. He gets lots of TLC from me for being so sweet!! HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!!! : )

I'm picturing a walk on the beach right now, and it is not a romantic image. (We're getting another foot of snow here today.) I'm guessing you live somewhere warm? lol.

      Happy Valentine's Day! :)

    2. Yes, I live in Miami, Florida. But I've never seen snow, so how about we trade? It gets VERY hot down here sometimes. Lol.

  26. heh...is it weird to say that Vday is kinda just another day most years? I do enjoy the years we manage to go out to eat, just me and the hubby. Hard to do with three kiddos though. :) My daughter, however, said the other day that candy is her favorite part. She entered 6th grade this year so the Vday parties are no more...she didn't like that because she always looks forward to the candy. Told her if she got a boyfriend, she might still get some candy and she looked at me with disgust! lol Apparently candy isn't worth it...she says boys/relationships are WAY too much drama...hahaha

  27. I'm not really into Valentine's day. Not any more at least. I just hate the overly commercialized feel of it. Like you have to do something to prove your love if you're in a relationship and if you're not, well, you're pathetic. It is rather awful in that sense.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I try to ignore the overly commercialized aspect of the day, and use the holiday as an excuse to binge on Paranormal Romance Novels, and perhaps some candy. ;)

  40. This sounds like a fun series. And, that's a nice cover, too.

About V-Day, I dislike the high prices of candy these days. I usually get mine on the 15th, when it goes on sale.
However, I love that I get to spend V-Day with my honey this year.
