Q+A with E.A. Weston (Lupo Legacy)

Q+A with Emily Cyr author of The Lightning Legacy paranormal

Please welcome today's guest author, E.A. Weston!  E.A. (aka Elizabeth Kelly) is the author the Blackrock series, the Avalon series, and Lupo Legacy series.

Q+A with E.A. Weston

EJ:  When did you begin writing?

EA:
I began writing poetry when I was a teenager, where I entered a competition and won a place in a book of anthologies. I used to write songs a lot but did start my writing career until November 2013, after I saw a news story about cyber bullying I couldn’t get it out of my head, which lead me to write my first book.

I wrote my first book Scarred Hearts, which is part of the Blackrock series, in three weeks. It was self published in January 2014 and I haven’t looked back since ;)

EJ:  What brought you to the paranormal genre?

EA:
I enjoy reading paranormal books and wanted to write in this genre for along time. I began reading Barbra Erskine books by accident while I was on my lunch break years ago. She writes time slip and ghost stories with historical events mixed in. I always found her books interesting and often wanted to emerge myself in her worlds.

My first Paranormal book, Killian, took me about six months to write because I wanted it to be perfect and I was also writing the Blackrock series at the same time. Killian is one of two series’ that I have always wanted to write it is set in the fictional world of Avalon in the fairy realm.  Once I have my fairy series complete I will move on to my other project (may already have notes upon notes written).

The other paranormal series that I have written is called the Lupo Legacy series. This series is written like a TV show, with six episodes released in 2014 and another six coming in November / December 2015. This is my werewolf shifter romance that follows a family of werewolves that come from an ancient royal bloodline of Italian wolves. Emery is 19 when we meet her but doesn’t know that she has a spirit wolf living inside of her until number of circumstances for the change on her. She has many trials not only in love but in dealing with what she now is.

EJ:  If you could be any paranormal or have any one supernatural talent, what would it be? Why?

EA:
I think I would have to be a fairy. I love the mystery that surrounds them and the of course the magic! Where could you go wrong, you even get wings!!

EJ:  Tell us why readers will enjoy your new release.

EA:
My upcoming release is season 2 of Lupo Legacy. It begins just where season 1 left off with Emery forced into hiding to protect what she is. Asher and his wolf are missing their mate and he is trying to solve the mystery of where she went and how he can find her, but a series of threats are made against her life, which has him feeling useless in the fight against the unknown.

EJ:  If your book(s) were being made into a movie, who would you cast for the leading roles? Why?

EA:
Oh wow that is hard. I honestly have no idea who I would cast in any of my books. My characters are so diverse and they are all made up with no ‘real life’ person in mind when I develop them. But if anyone has any ideas I’ll gladly listen.

Thank you E.A. for joining us here today at From the Shadows!

Q+A with Carole Cummings + Wolf's-Own Giveaway

Q+A with Carole Cummings

Please welcome today's guest author, Carole Cummings!  Carole is the author of the Wolf's-Own series, including GHOST.

Keep reading for a chance to win a Kindle Fire and signed books!

Q+A with Carole Cummings

EJ:  When did you begin writing?

Carole:
As soon as I able to hold a pencil and make it make the shapes I wanted.

EJ:  What brought you to the paranormal genre?

Carole:
I like the strange, the unexplained, the magic, the inexplicable. I’m like Mulder—I want to believe.

EJ:  If you could be any paranormal or have any one supernatural talent, what would it be? Why?

Carole:
I would like to know when someone is lying. Not what they’re thinking—just if they’re lying or not. I’m horrible at seeing deception and I trust too easily.

EJ:  Tell us why readers will enjoy your new release.

Carole:
It’s old school epic fantasy, with lots of plot, lots of twists and in-depth characterizations. It’s not a beach read, you have to pay attention and think along with the characters, but if you look for immersive when you read, Wolf’s-own can give you that.

EJ:  If your book(s) were being made into a movie, who would you cast for the leading roles? Why?

Carole:
Physically speaking, Hyun Bin (South Korean actor) has the closest I’ve found to the right look for Fen, though the fit isn’t quite perfect. And Travis Fimmel, back when he was all about the hair and the pretty, works quite well for Malick. (Mal’s a bit of an egotist.)

Kamen Malick has every intention of finding out.

When Malick and his own small band of assassins ambush Fen in an alley, Malick offers Fen one choice: join us or die. Determined to decode the intrigue that surrounds Fen—and to have the Untouchable for himself—Malick sets to unraveling Fen’s past while Fen delves into the mysteries surrounding Malick.

As Fen’s secrets slowly unfold, Malick is drawn into a crusade that isn’t his, one surprisingly similar to his own quest for vengeance. Yet irony is a bitter reward when Malick discovers the one he wants is already hopelessly entangled with the one he hunts.

Q+A with Georgeann Swiger (Cloven)

Please welcome today's paranormal guest author Georgeann Swiger!  Georgeann is the author of The Trinity of Souls series (Adorned, Cloven).

Q+A with Georgeann Swiger

EJ:  When did you begin writing?

Georgeann:
I started out writing news stories at a television station. When I left TV to raise my family, I found something was missing from my life. I realized I missed writing. That’s when I started penning short stories as a hobby. I joined a local writers group and worked on my skills as a fiction writer. After I won an award for the original manuscript of Adorned, I decided to pursue being a serious writer. I queried agents and publishers and started learning the ropes of publishing into today’s marketplace.

EJ:  What brought you to the paranormal genre?

Georgeann:
I love anything and everything paranormal. Even as a kid, I couldn’t wait for a good scary movie to come on television. Vampires, werewolves, ghosts, you name it, I like it. When I decided to write a novel, something drew me to the world of angels. After researching these heavenly beings, I knew I wanted to play up the idea of the Heavenly Hierarchy that ranks angels according to their status and assigns them specific jobs. When I found out the angels in the group known as the Powers were Heaven’s soldiers, a story started to form in my mind. Who wouldn’t love to read about a heavenly soldier who is sent to Earth to watch over a new angel learning to be a guardian? It was perfect material for a forbidden romance.

EJ:  If you could be any paranormal or have any one supernatural talent, what would it be? Why?

Georgeann:
If I could be any paranormal creature, I would be a witch. A good witch. Like a fairy godmother that could cast a spell and make good things happen.

EJ:  Tell us why readers will enjoy your new release.

Georgeann:
Readers are going to love the characters in this story. Every one of them is flawed and has their own little set of quirks that make them unlike anything readers are used to in the paranormal world of angels. I think when readers finish Cloven, they’ll look at angels in a new way. The story mashes up the stereotypical images of Heaven and Hell and gives readers a new perspective of what these places are like.

EJ:  If your book(s) were being made into a movie, who would you cast for the leading roles? Why?

Georgeann:
Anya really grows and comes into her own in Cloven. In Adorned, she’s a shy, quiet character that is a bit immature for her age. In Cloven, she doesn’t have time to be any of those things. The weight of the universe falls on her shoulders. She becomes tough, determined and fearless. For those reasons, I think in Cloven, Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr would be my ideal Anya.

When it comes to Micah, I have a poster that hangs by my desk that came from my hairdresser’s shop with is picture. I don’t have any idea of what the model’s name is. I’ve tried to research the photographer but haven’t been able to find anything about the model. I wish I could show you the picture, but it has a copyright. In my mind, nobody but the guy on the poster could be Micah. He’s cute, built and everything a heavenly soldier should be. ;)

Cloven (The Trinity of Souls #2) by Georgeann Swiger

What would you do if the only things standing between you and the angel you love were another angel and the fiery pits of Hell?

When Anya and Micah declare their love for each other, the battle for the souls of the star-crossed angels stretches across the heavens. With Heaven forbidding their love, Micah vows to protect Anya by sentencing himself to Hell.

But Anya won’t let him go without a fight. She goes into Hell after him, only to discover an angel from Micah’s past is willing to do anything to keep Micah in Hell.

With love and lies blinding Micah, Anya fights to get him to face his demons and return to Heaven, even if it means hearts will be broken.

The battle for the angels begins where it left off. Between Heaven and Hell is forbidden love.

Q+A with Sunniva Dee + Shattering Halos Giveaway

Please welcome today's paranormal guest author Sunniva Dee!  Sunniva is the author of Shattering Halos.

Keep reading for a chance to win Kindle WiFi or Amazon Gift Card and Shattering Halos ebooks.

Q+A with Sunniva Dee

EJ:  When did you begin writing?

Sunniva:
Hi there! Thanks for hosting this blog tour stop! As most writers, I’ve always loved writing. I used to write to sort my thoughts out—as a teenager, I wrote about all the “exciting things” that happened to me and my friends (insert eye-roll here) and then the fictive stories started taking over. I soon realized that my characters’ fictional lives were even more interesting. ;-)

EJ:  What brought you to the paranormal genre?

Sunniva:
It was actually Twilight. I read it about 5 years after the craze, and my first thought after finishing it was "Aww, I want Stephenie Meyer to write about angels." But then, I thought, "Nah, I'll do it myself!"
When I wrote Shattering Halos, I wanted to create a story that was a little bit more adult than Twilight, though. My angels are sassier, sexier, and maybe a tad more unpredictable? This is a New Adult paranormal, so it allows for more freedom than the YA genre does. In it, I try to make sure the reader has a bit of a thrill ride.

EJ:  If you could be any paranormal or have any one supernatural talent, what would it be? Why?

Sunniva:
Hmm, obviously angels are very close to my heart. I'd like to have two supernatural talents: I'd like to be able to fly so I could visit my family in Norway whenever I wanted, and I'd like to go invisible at will. The latter, because as a writer, to be able to creepily stare at people as much as you want during their interactions would be amazing!

EJ:  Tell us why readers will enjoy your new release.

Sunniva:
Not everyone will love Shattering Halos, but it's aimed at readers with a strong sense of romance, and who are able to detach themselves from reality and DREAM. :) The book is written to create a film in the readers' heads. I want them to be there and feel with my characters—go through what they go through.

EJ:  If your book were being made into a movie, who would you cast for the leading roles? Why?

Sunniva:
I honestly don't know. The female lead would have to be gorgeous and sassy as hell. My main angels, Gabriel and Cassiel… I've been asked this question before, and the only person I've ever seen who comes close to how I picture Gabriel is Travis Fimmel back in his early days as a Calvin Klein model. I'd have to trust the director on that one! :)

Shattering Halos (Halos #1) by Sunniva Dee.

I traded my death for love. I wasn’t given a choice. His decision has caught up with us, so now I am a living, breathing catalyst to war between Heaven and Hell.

The violations he committed saved my life. Since the collision, he’s appeared everywhere. In my hospital room, my school, even my house. He shows up in my paintings, my drawings, in all of my art projects. I can’t stop thinking about him.

He says his name is Gabriel, and he doesn’t understand what’s happening to him. He doesn’t know how I can see him or why he wants me in ways that should be impossible for a Celestial.

My obsession grows. I need him to hold me, kiss me—give all of himself. For every day he protects me, the consequences loom darker and taller. Soon, they’ll crash down on us.

The war is about to begin.
